Enrichment programme commences at AKA Dhaka
On Sunday, 30 October, the Aga Khan Academy Dhaka began its enrichment programme for Grade 3-8 students. The programme enables students to expand their interests, build leadership skills and understand community needs and opportunities.
As part of the programme, different topics and activities were introduced to the students for their enrolment. Based on their area of interest, the students joined various clubs, such as chess, cooking, coding and programming, debate, filmmaking, musical band, Model United Nations, taekwondo, TEDx, Zumba, and more.
Students were excited to begin their enrichments as they could explore and exercise their interests beyond the classroom.
“In the first session, we introduced ourselves and came up with the ground rules for the debate club,” said Grade 6 student Faiquah Walia Shammriddhi. “We learned about the structure of a debate and practised with different teams in the club.”
Mr Zeeshan Akhter, one of the enrichment programme coordinators, emphasised the opportunities the enrichments will create for the students’ self-exploration, while also helping them identify the needs of society such as through the environment enrichment and others.
“The objective of the enrichment programme is to create spaces of excellence where students can explore themselves,” Mr Zeeshan said. “This initiative is driven by students where they get to explore the needs of society.”
